My Cruise to Mexico

Day 1:
Today was a really long day for me (starting from midnight). This would be the first day of my cruise, that is when I get there. I currently live is Cupertino, CA (near San Jose) ,but my dad has to drive me and my mom all the way to Long Beach, CA (near Los Angles). We started driving at around 6:30 AM. It took us approximately 6 hours to get there. I was trying to get to sleep, but the car was always too wobbly. Once, I almost got to sleep, but then my mom turned on music. So, I just ended up laying there, awake. There was a problem: I was sleepy, but can't sleep. It was like I drank coffee (which I didn't). After only 6 hours of driving, we finally got there, finding out the ship sets sail in 5 hours. However, the buffet, Paris (Lido Deck), was pretty good. They served almost anything you can imagine (ice cream, yogurt, meat, bread, chicken noodle soup, fish, pizza, sushi... etc.). We continued our day smoothly, mostly looking around the ship.

Day 2:
The day started with me turning on the TV. I had just finished reading a flyer and saw that there were kids' TV shows on channels 33-35. I ended up watching channel 34. How to Eat Fried Worms was on. Even though I already watched it, It was worth watching again. During the movie, my mom had to stop me from watching to go and eat breakfast at Paris. I found out that every single dish changes for every meal. During breakfast, there were pizza, eggs (fried on the spot), bacon, ham, milk, bread, chicken, fish, fruits, cakes, and even more. After breakfast, I played golf with my friends David, Kevin, Anjan, and Rubuk. I had just met Rubuk that day because he was friends with Anjan. Golf was at the top floor (Sun Deck), where anyone can see the sky. It is sad there is no bowling. There is usually bowling in hotels. In the afternoon, I went to go swimming. The ship is an AWESOME slide. It goes round and round and round. Unfortunately, the slide was closed when I got there. I just went in the pool... OMG!!! The pool had salty water!!! All the salt went up my nose and it was really gross. That was really unexpected. Because it was Christmas, there was a show and I went to watch it. It was boring. So I went to my room and to sleep (Empress Deck). I continued to watch How to Eat Fried Worms on my bed, but went to sleep before the movie finished.

Day 3:
Today, my mom dragged me to see the sunrise early in the morning. It was really sad. We went up to see the sunrise, but then my mom went to get some water. I went for a walk, and by the time I came back to meet up with my mom, the sun was already high up in the sky. Really sad... After eating breakfast that day, I went to play Ping Pong (Verandah Deck). Following my luck, the tables were full. I checked the swimming pool, and the slide was open! I quickly called Kevin and went swimming together. The slide was really fun. You slide down really slowly, but the fact that the slide is slippery makes it fun. I had a great time at the pool. By the time I finished swimming, it was time to get out of the ship and to Mexico. I went to a city called Ensenada. I wasn't allowed to drink or eat anything there because my parents said it would be dirty. One of the most amazing things I found about that city was that it had a blow hole where water would spray 20 feet into the air from under a rock. It was amazing to see how water would just magically burst up into the air. After the tour of Ensenada, it was dinner time (Promenade Deck). Dinner was always one of those more "formal" times. We order dishes at a restaurant called Destiny. We have 3 courses: Starter, Main, and Dessert. I like dessert the best. The "Baked Alaska" cake/ice cream was really delicious. Also on that day, I went to a camp called Camp Carnival. Carnival was the company for this cruise. During the camp I was playing mostly Play-station 2, mainly because that was the only thing to do there.

Day 4:
This day was the last full day of my cruise. I was the first one to wake up. I went directly to Paris to eat breakfast. After that, I played golf again. I used almost an hour, trying to get a hole-in-one in every hole. I almost succeeded. I got in every hole except the ninth hole. It was a system failure. It is suppose to roll from some place into the hole. The problem is that it never rolls into the hole. After golf, I went to get Kevin with me to play Ping Pong. This time, we actually got to play because we waited half an hour in line. David was recording the game while I was far ahead on Kevin in points. We then ate lunch and went swimming again. The night before this day, I found a hidden swimming pool next to the basketball court. There the water was fresh. All my friends ended up playing Marco Polo and Water Wars there. After swimming and eating dinner, I found my room key to be lost. On a cruise, a room key can be used like a credit card, in addition to being a key. That was bed luck. After searching for 30 minutes, I finally found the key. It ended up being in my pocket.

Day 5:
Today was the last day. We didn't do much at all. I was just looking for my parents for a long time. I got up early to eat breakfast and came to find the passageway to my room is closed. I was suppose to wait at the room but I didn't know how to get there. I just waited at the front of the departure line, hoping my parents would come. After an hour, they finally came. It seemed that I was able to go around the wall to my room. When we got off the ship, we just went around, toured a submarine, and ate lunch. After lunch, we drove back home and went to sleep after eating dinner.
